Dr. Julia Arciero
Dr. Julia Arciero is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). She received her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Michigan and her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Arizona. She conducted a three year Postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Pittsburgh and began her faculty position at IUPUI in Fall 2011. Dr. Arciero’s research in applied mathematics involves the development and analysis of ordinary and partial differential equation models of physiological phenomena including blood flow regulation and the immune response. She is currently working on blood flow regulation models with applications to peripheral arterial disease and glaucoma. She has also developed the first comprehensive model of the dynamics of heart transplant rejection.
