Things Are Looking Up: What’s Up There?

Location:

Crowes Pasture Conservation Area, East Dennis

Location:

A joint program of the daVinci Pursuit and the Dennis Conservation Land Trust (DLCT). Often, we fail to look up and explore what is above us when we are out walking in nature. In this walk we will practice the skill of observation in the tree canopy above us. We will use drawings, photos, and words to explore the natural world over our heads. Nature can be observed at many levels and the canopy and sky above allows us to see new possibilities.

daVinci Art Science Roundtable –

Beauty is Pain

daVinci Art Science Roundtable

The daVinci art science roundtables are a facilitated monthly series of exploratory discussions for artists and scientists to talk about the culture of their two fields and how they might collaborate more meaningfully. Ultimately, the discussions also explore how collaborations intersect with public understanding of science. The roundtables began with the basic assumptions that discussion between the artists and scientists had the potential to create new knowledge and ideas that would be of interest to the participants and eventually to the public as well.

Artists, chambermaids, royalty, and early chemists all shared the risks of creating beauty, with little knowledge of the affects that the medium being used had upon their health and well-being. Come prepared to engage in conmversation on the links between health and the creation of beauty..

Join us for this free event on Friday, May 10, 2024 from 1pm to 2pm EST.
